As an educational provider, I believe in a holistic approach to tutoring and education, working with you, your child’s teachers, school and any other professionals such as Educational Psychologists and Speech Therapists.
Your goal is to help your child enhance his or her academic performance. My goal is the same, but I also want to provide children with the skills and resources they need to succeed in the future. Emphasis is on the importance of enquiry and the ability to think critically, and we work to develop these skills as well as your child's confidence.
Hi! I'm Marissa, your Tutor at Focused Tutoring. I have been working with students for over 18 years, ranging in ages 3 to 12 years old. Amongst my credentials are a Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood and an Associate Diploma in Child Care. Currently I hold a Blue Card and am a member of the Queensland College of Teachers.
Assisting young children in accomplishing their goals and gaining confidence in their learning abilities, is something I am passionate about. Each child learns differently and at various rates, therefore it is critical to identify a learning style that works best for each individual child in order to help them reach their full potential. It is much easier for children to acquire new concepts once they gain confidence in themselves.
